I’m a rather monotonous girl: whenever there’s a garment I like, I tend to buy it in multiple colors. The same goes for sewing: whenever a pattern is tried and true<\/a>, I tend to plan a lot of other versions of it (which I may make or not: sewing takes a little _ lots of time).\u00a0<\/p>\n

It is the case of this dress:\u00a0it is\u00a0the summerly version of my first shirtdress. Not only because of its little puffed sleeves, but because of its popsicle colors (orange, mint, blueberry, anyone?): to me, the colors of a piece of clothing are as important as the material in its attribution\u00a0to a season (wardrobe rotation is my obsession<\/a>).<\/p>\n

\"SImplicity<\/a>This pastel cotton was therefore destined to a light garment, but I’m afraid the result is a bit cutesy. Between the colors and rather fifties shape, it undeniably has a Betty Draper air, even if I don’t wear a petticoat (which must be so warm by summertime!).<\/p>\n

I’m as happy with this dress as I am with my first<\/a>\u00a0(which remains my favorite). To underline the similarity between the two of them, I gave this one\u00a0the same, small porcelain buttons. I (almost) managed to match the plaid from the puff sleeves and the gathered waist. The French and bias-finished seams are extremely pleasing to look at when I put it on (it’s actually a bit too cold to wear it in Paris currently but hey, I pledged a Me-made-may challenge<\/a>). Will I be monotonous enough to make a third one? Well, we shall see.<\/p>\n
