It didn&#8217;t happen : I&#8217;m a big procrastinator and a leather jacket wearer. Plus coats are a bit intimidating, right? However, when Eleonore, the talented designer behind <a href=\"http:\/\/www.deer-and-doe.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\">Deer and doe<\/a> released the\u00a0 <a title=\"pavot jacket by deer and doe\" href=\"http:\/\/boutique.deer-and-doe.fr\/4--veste-pavot.html\" target=\"_blank\">Pavot jacket<\/a>, it suddenly seemed&#8230; feasible. It took me some time, but here I am : I made a coat _ quite a milestone in a seamstress&#8217; life.\u00a0<!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i2.wp.com\/www.carlottastermaria.fr\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/veste-pavot-pli-creux-epaule.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-1317\" src=\"https:\/\/i2.wp.com\/www.carlottastermaria.fr\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/veste-pavot-pli-creux-epaule-1024x684.jpg?resize=604%2C403\" alt=\"veste-pavot-pli-creux-epaule\" width=\"604\" height=\"403\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i1.wp.com\/www.carlottastermaria.fr\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/Veste-pavot-deer-and-doe-3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-1319\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.carlottastermaria.fr\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/Veste-pavot-deer-and-doe-3-684x1024.jpg?resize=604%2C904\" alt=\"Veste-pavot-deer-and-doe-3\" width=\"604\" height=\"904\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">One of the perks (among other things) of sewing is that you can virtually make anything you want : unique clothes filled with little details carefully chosen and designed by yours truly. I wanted to give it a seventies edge, so I lengthened it a bit, made the peter pan collar a bi pointier, added pleats in the back and on the sleeves, as well as a martingale. However, my favorite parts are the ones remaining invisible : while I loved my soft, biscuit-colored cotton twill, I dislike coats that don&#8217;t have a lining. There are plenty instructions on how to draft a lining on the web, but that seemed tedious, so I just cut the main pieces in a lovely pink silk charmeuse and hong-kong finished all the seams with Liberty bias _ maybe I should revise my definition of &#8220;tedious&#8221;&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i1.wp.com\/www.carlottastermaria.fr\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/veste-pavot-doublure-biais.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-1322\" src=\"https:\/\/i1.wp.com\/www.carlottastermaria.fr\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/veste-pavot-doublure-biais-684x1024.jpg?resize=604%2C904\" alt=\"veste-pavot-doublure-biais\" width=\"604\" height=\"904\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.carlottastermaria.fr\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/Veste-pavot-deer-and-doe-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-1318\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.carlottastermaria.fr\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/Veste-pavot-deer-and-doe-2-684x1024.jpg?resize=604%2C904\" alt=\"Veste-pavot-deer-and-doe-2\" width=\"604\" height=\"904\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This coat is not by any mean perfect (my buttons and buttonholes could be better and the shell fabric creases easily), but I&#8217;ve proudly worn it very often since mach, when I made it. By contrast, I noticed I don&#8217;t usually wear very often the clohes I made for myself. Hence I dedided to take part to <a title=\"Me Made May 2014\" href=\"http:\/\/sozowhatdoyouknow.blogspot.fr\/2014\/04\/me-made-may14-sign-up-here.html\" target=\"_blank\">Zoe&#8217;s Me-made-may challenge<\/a> this year and try to wear one handmade garment a day.
